Peter studied theology at Exeter University from 1977-1980 and trained for ordination at Lincoln Theological College and the English College in Rome.

He served as a Curate in the Wareham Team Ministry in Dorset, where he and Julia met and were married. They moved to Winchester in 1987.

Peter was Chaplain at King Alfred’s College and then Vicar of St Luke’s Stanmore for ten years. Peter served as Rural Dean of Winchester from 2000-07 and has been Rector of St Matthew’s with St Paul’s and Chaplain of Peter Symonds College since 2000.
