Weeke Mothers' Union News

Our speaker for our October meeting was unable to come at the last minute.  We had nothing prepared but as usual we were able to fill our time with a short discussion and then Marion Fletcher told us about the talk she had been to the week before at the United Church ( ‘Space in the City’  celebrating 400 years of the King James Bible)

This was on ‘The Bible and Judaism’ the Jewish approach to biblical literature.  It was interesting to hear about various books in the Old Testament and the Jewish beliefs.

Our December meeting will be at St Barnabas and is a time for us to share some Christmas poems, stories and readings.

In January we have our Wave of Prayer Service which will be at St Barnabas this year.  Our January meeting is our New Year Lunch when our Speaker will be Mike Hobby on the work of the Street Pastors.

Loving Father, Help us remember the birth of Jesus,
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.

Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.

Amen
